Tacklingfoodwaste.com is an informational, research-based website created to educate people about the issue of food wastage. It is part of a student-led community service project.
Tacklingfoodwaste.com started with a question
I grew up in San Diego, where just going out I would constantly witness people going hungry, which left me wondering why couldn't everyone have enough to eat?
As I got older however, I also began to notice just how much recoverable food was being thrown out around me each day, at school, at the grocery store, and at restaurants.
I still remembered all the people I'd seen in the past going hungry, and seeing that food was even being wasted only left me questioning more.

I decided it was an issue that could be solved through the creation of awareness, because more people knowing not to waste might lead to less waste created.
That's what lead me to create this website. It's a bank of all the information I've acquired through diligent research; organized for anyone to learn from and apply this new knowledge to their own lives.
However, as part of my community project I also wanted to take action on this issue, and not just educate people, but create a change.
